The Hunter Original Short Glossy Boots!

I bought these wonderful Hunter boots on eBay from a reputable seller and got them at a great price. I never owned a pair before. In fact, I never even heard of these boots until I saw a mommy friend of mine wearing them and I loved the way they looked on her. However, she has the tall Hunter boots. I decided to get the original short boots instead because I'm only 4'11" so I have very short legs!!.
Okay so, on the eBay listing the boots were described as having a white film/discoloration all over them. I did some research and found out that the white residue is called BLOOM. Apparently, it forms on natural rubber and this is totally normal. On the eBay listing, they actually listed these boots as defective because of the white residue ;-)) they didn't know that is normal- lucky for me!
Here is how they looked when they first arrived:
As you can see, there is a lot of bloom on these boots. Other than that, these boots looked unworn. So here's what I bought to restore these boots to the original glossy finish:
Rubber Buffer $12 & Instant Boot Shine $5 & Fleece Welly Socks $19 (all bought at Nordstrom)
You will also need: 2 dry clean cloths!
First, start with a small area, take the rubber buffer spray and spray the boot. Then, get a clean dry cloth and start rubbing in a circular motion over the bloom until it's rubs off. Then, you get another dry cloth to buff the remainder of the spray off for a nice clean shine.
When you're done removing the bloom, the boots will look shiny enough. But I like to have them look extra shiny by going over the boots very lightly with the instant boot shine. Then, I take the same dry cloth and give it a light buff to top it off. Here is how they turned out:
I loved the way they turned out! They are much better looking person. I put the socks on with them because they look better to me with the socks on. I have the tall socks in there, not the short. Socks are great with wellies because it feels less like a rain boot. Here is how they look on me:
I think that the short Hunter boots look great on us petite women. The tall ones make short women look uncomfortable, or even shorter. Let's face it, they come all the way up to our knees & that's not cute nor comfortable. Now with that being said, you can get the children's tall Hunter boots- but you then have the reflectors on the back which is pretty childish.
The Huntress Hunter boots are made with a shorter shaft. 14" approximately- which could work for the petite woman. They also have a wider circumference which is perfect for those who have big calves. Basically, the Huntress boot by Hunter is so feminine- which is funny because they have the male sizes listed on those as well....teeheeeheee
