Better Home & Garden Autumn Lane Table Set

This very affordable table was purchased from Walmart.com. I ordered the table that came with the two benches. After reading reviews, I was afraid it would come extremely dented and scraped.

When the package box arrived, I was very concerned because there was a large hole in the box.

Any how, after getting the table, bench, & legs out of the boxes, I quickly inspected them and it wasn't as bad as I imagined. There was a small to medium sized scratch on the table top.

From one step away, you can't really notice it. It's more like a scratch, not a crack. But, I have read that some folks received cracked table tops!

Very easy to put together. All I had to do was put on the table & bench legs. However, the table top is super heavy, you will need another person to pick up one end. My teenage daughter helped me just fine!

After putting the legs on, I was suprised at how sturdy the set was. It looks really cute! Love the oak color, and the black compliments the oak. The oak is just as you see it in the pictures!  Has a hint of redish orangish colors- feels like a Fall table because of the color of the oak!

As far as the scratch, it's hidden by my table runner. Even still, you would not notice it, unless I point it out to you. $200 for a table set is cheap, but I still expect a product I paid for new, to arrive without damages. Not too much to ask.

But I will say this! If I had received a huge crack  in the table top, I'd pop this sucker in my Honda Odyssey and it'll be right back at Walmart. ....lol. I can't stand a huge obviously damaged piece of furniture. Nonetheless,  I'm satisfied with a light scratch.

I may have jinxed myself....lol. After typing the previous section, I realized a knick in the bench. Yikes! I'm thinking about sending it back, I don't know if it bothers me too much. I guess It really doesn't. I guess for a farm house table, a small knick adds a little bit of character. Because a real farmhouse table has many other imperfections and a knick or two ;)
